They followed it up with “Dear you”, a six track EP in 2018. Their third album, “All We Tried To Be” came out in 2022. Song Atmosphere
‘Everest’ opens with an atmospheric synth and low beat, which lead right into steady drums and melodic guitar. Then the band sings their soulful lyrics in a gentle, lilting way, and the song feels rounded, complete — like something gentle to hold in your hand. The parts of the song where the lyrics taper off and leave the instruments there to hold it up are fantastic. The guitar and drum solo for a few moments at around 3:20 is the best bit of the song; it’s simply gorgeous.

Song Lyrics
The lyrics are emotive and vulnerable. At its heart, the song holds fear. The narrator is afraid to face someone. Perhaps a close friend, or significant other — “facing you is climbing Everest” they sing. There are many cyclical motifs in the song, of repetition and pattern. The lyrics refers to seasons, patterns, segments — and “boxes closing
do not open” seems like a plea with himself to not re-open the box which has finally closed. He wants to seal it shut, leave it that way, and avoid that problem.
At another point, he is a status in Central Park. Something solid, anchored, unmoving. Children are playing around him, and in what I think is the most vulnerable and beautiful lyric of the song, he is asking the narrator to take a chance on him. “You can take a chance on what I’ve become
Would you take me back if I chose to run?”
The song is tender and vulnerable, backed by fantastic instrumentation. It is definitely something everyone needs to listen to, then listen to again and again. Listen to ‘Everest’ right here:
