Kendrick Lamar’s debut feature film “Whitney Springs” is all set to premiere on Paramount+ on July 11, 2025. Produced by the Grammy-winning rapper and his pgLang partner Dave Free, along with renowned South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and the comedy stars Chloe East and Celeste Octavia.
First announced in 2022 as a live-action comedy, the film will “depict the past and present coming to a head when a young Black man, who is interning as a slave re-enactor at a living history museum, discovers that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his,” as described.
“We’re doing a movie with Kendrick, with Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free and their company,” Parker had said last year. “And we’re working on it and hopefully come out July 4 weekend opposite Jurassic Park, which is pretty funny.” When the movie will premiere, Kendrick will be on his Grand National Tour with SZA .
South Park and Kendrick Lamar together – Fans await a big treat!
These are the same people that gave us characters like Eric Cartman and hilarious episodes like the “Kanye Likes Fishticks” episode or the “#Rehash” episode ft. Nicki Minaj. When these people are collaborating with the arguably biggest rapper on the planet right now, we can be sure this is going to be massive.

This year has been huge for Lamar. Five Grammy wins in one time, A controversial Super Bowl Halftime performance, a No. 1 album on Billboard 200, and three weeks with two songs at No. 1, beating Michael Jackson’s record. While comedy is going to be a major element in the movie, we also think the film will have also voice on social oppression. Lamar has always spoken against racism and social issues and fans expect this to be no different. As Paramount CEO Brian Robbins states, “This script is one of the funniest and most original scripts we’ve ever read and it’s certain to create some fireworks.”
